Advanced Practice Skills Workshop, specializes in providing hands on skill workshops for the advanced practice provider, nurse practitioners, medical students, nurse practitioner students, at any level. Enhance your skill set through us!! This workshop is for all students and practitioners: students, the novice, and experienced. We cater to any class sizes while providing personalized attention with two facilitators present during every workshop. Classes can be modified to meet the needs of your practice or college class. During the workshops, we provide powerpoint education of each skill which includes:
Clinical indication, contra-indication, side effects/potential complications, and billing codes.
Each skill is demonstrated by the instructor for the attendees and then practiced one on one with each participant.

We welcome all skill levels as a way to share clinical pearls and help each provider stay at the top of their game.

For suturing, each participant will receive a suture kit for practice at home with a suture pad with 14 pre-cut wounds, suture tools, suture thread & needle (Complete kit)

Our Team:

The instructors are Ethel Smith, MSN, FNP-C and Erica Evans, MSN, FNP-C.

Erica Evans, MSN, FNP-C graduated from the University of Cincinnati and has over 18 years of nursing experience. Her career has been spent in emergency departments, urgent care, and primary practice. She has worked at two magnet hospitals earning numerous magnet nurse and daisy awards. She has a passion for passing on her experience to others. She teaches suturing, foreign body removal, incision & drainage, and corneal abrasion/foreign bodies of the eye. She continues to work full time as a nurse practitioner allowing her to keep her clinical skills up to date.

Ethel Smith, MSN, FNP-C graduated from the University of Cincinnati and has over 19 years of nursing experience. Her career has been spent in family practice and pain management. As well as teaching in the classroom and clinical setting from ADN to MSN programs. She established onboarding programs for three employers to guide new nurse practitioners with on the job training. She continues to work in a busy pain management practice in Tampa, FL. She teaches various joint injections.
