Two Day Workshops provide a variety of hands on skill simulations from basic suturing, casting or splinting, and common joint injections. In recognition of ever changing laws and regulations, we have included education on safe opioid prescribing. We welcome all skill levels as a way to share clinical pearls and help each provider stay at the top of their game. Be sure to select the correct class and location that best fits your needs. The instructors are Ethel Smith, MSN, FNP-C and Erica Evans, MSN, FNP-C.
Erica Evans, MSN, FNP-C graduated from the University of Cincinnati and has over 17 years of nursing experience. Her career has been spent in emergency departments, urgent care, and primary practice. She has worked at two magnet hospitals earning numerous magnet nurse and daisy awards. She has a passion for passing on her experience to others. She teaches suturing, foreign body removal, incision & drainage, casting and splinting, and corneal abrasion/foreign bodies of the eye. She continues to work full time as a nurse practitioner allowing her to keep her clinical skills up to date.
Ethel Smith, MSN, FNP-C graduated from the University of Cincinnati and has over 16 years of nursing experience. Her career has been spent in family practice and pain management. As well as teaching in the classroom and clinical setting from ADN to MSN programs. She established onboarding programs for three employers to guide new nurse practitioners with on the job training. She continues to work in a busy pain management practice in Las Vegas. She teaches joint injections, trigger point injections, occipital nerve blocks, and safe opioid prescribing.
